Project Description

This course is an interactive introduction to business calculus. It covers everything from maximizing profit to minimizing cost, calculating marginal revenue, elasticity of demand and the impact of population growth on industrial activities, by analyzing business functions using the two processes of calculus: the “differentiation” and “integration” of functions. Differentiation allows the user to calculate new functions, the “derivatives,” from the given functions. Derivatives can be used, for example, to maximize gain and minimize loss. Integration allows the user to solve other types of important business problems. Business calculus consists of powerful techniques that are essential mathematical tools for business.
