Project Description

This course explores the Canadian criminal law system with particular emphasis on the Criminal Code. Canadian criminal law incorporates traditional crimes, such as assault, murder and robbery with more recent violations, such as the activities of organized crime, drugs, automobile infractions and terrorism. In addition to the particular offenses, this course will also explore the nature of criminal law, the procedures and nuances of the Canadian criminal law system, and the role of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Students enrolled in this course will also be expected to follow major Canadian criminal trials that will take place during the semester.
