Project Description
An Introduction to recreation and leisure in Canadian society, this course exposes students to the perceptions of free and discretionary time, concepts of leisure, theories and interrelationships of play, and the historical foundations for the leisure discipline. The concepts are presented as integral components of today’s lifestyle. In addition, organized recreation is examined, with an introduction to the leisure service delivery system. Students also examine the role that leisure plays in currents societal issues.
