This course looks at religious diversity and pluralism in Canada.  We will explore the history, sociological profiles and ongoing contributions of a variety of religious traditions found within the broader Canadian landscape.  The influence of these traditions on many aspects of Canadian society, such as politics, law and culture, will be considered, as well as the significant difficulties many of them faced in coming to Canada.  Attention is also paid to the interaction of these different religious groups within Canadian society and the unique challenges this poses in the context of a multicultural society.
