This course is a study of the historical origins of Christianity with a view to understanding the creative originality of the Christian tradition. This study opens up possibilities for the re-thinking of contemporary Christianity in the light of the common sources of diverse Christian traditions. Christian identity will be defined in relation to Judaism and Islam.
